The purpose of our club has been to welcome new residents of the north San Diego county area and those who have experienced recent major lifestyle changes. This club is organized for social, educational, and charitable causes.

For the Active
Beach Walking – Walk and talk with us on one of our beautiful beaches once or twice a month
Boogie Board – Ride the waves every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 9:30 am and noon on various days
Chicks with Chains – (Cycling) Bike paved, off-road trails in the area once a month
Golf – Every Thursday at 8:45 am
Hula – Every Thursday at 8:00 am during the warmer weather
Pandemic Pooch Perambulators (Dog Walking) – Meets the second Monday every month
Pickle Ball – Play every Wednesday at 1:00 pm
Tai Chi – Enjoy tai chi every Thursday at 4:00 pm
Yoga – For beginners to more advanced on Wednesdays at 10:00 am
For Those Who Enjoy Books & Culture
Cultural Arts – Offers a variety of cultural art experiences, including museum tours, lectures on art, and attending plays and concerts.
First Monday Book Club – Meets the first Monday of the month at 10:00 am
Mystery Book Club – Meets the second Tuesday of the month at 10:00 am
Second Tuesday Book Club – Meets the second Tuesday of the month at 3:00 pm (a joint activity with Newcomers II)
Special Events – Periodic lecture, trip, or some other fun activity (Examples: Border Patrol tour, Handbag Exhibit tour, indoor skydiving)
Wanderers – Offers a variety of interesting trips throughout San Diego county and surrounding areas
Women’s Fiction Book Club – Meets the fourth Monday of the month at 10:00 am
For the Creative
Arts & Crafts – Meets at least once a month for a fun, creative arts & crafts project
Knitting & Crochet – Meets the second and fourth Friday of the month at 10:00 am
In the Kitchen with … – Learn how to cook a delicious dish with one of our member chefs, times vary
For Those Who Like Games
Canasta – Meets on the last Tuesday of the month
Game Night – Meets once a month on a Friday or Saturday evening
Mah Jongg (American) – Meets every Thursday from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm
Poker Divas – Meets the third Wednesday of the month 7:00 – 9:00 pm
Scrabble – Meets the second Tuesday of the month from 4:00 – 6:00 pm
Shanghai – Meets once a month from 12:30 – 3:00 pm
For Those Who Want to Socialize
Breakfast Club – Enjoy breakfast at various restaurants in the area every other month on a Friday morning.
Cinema Socializing – See the movie on your own then join in a discussion about it. Generally meets the second Saturday of every other month.
Dining In – If you love to cook and socialize, enjoy a potluck dinner with a table of eight four times per year.
Happy Hour – Meets the first Monday of the month at 4:00 pm or later at various restaurants in the area.
General Meeting – A great way to find out what events are coming up and learn about what’s happening in the club. Open to all members. We usually meet the first Wednesday of the month at 10:00 am.
Lunch Bunch – Dine at various restaurants throughout San Diego county on the first Wednesday of every other month.
Meet & Eat – Join us for lunch after our General Meeting
Movie Goers – We enjoy a movie together on the fourth Tuesday of the month.
New Member Coffee – A great introduction to our club. Meet other new members and learn about us and our activities. Meets monthly.
Parties – We have 2-3 themed parties throughout the year.
For Those Who Want to Help the Environment
Butterflies – Learn about and raise monarch butterflies in an effort to keep them from becoming extinct.
Beach Clean-up – Once a year we team up with I Love a Clean San Diego to clean our beaches and neighborhoods.
For Those Who Like to Volunteer
Volunteer at the Community Resource Center in Encinitas.
Help fully furnish an apartment at Carol’s House for victims of domestic violence.
Prepare and/or serve food to homeless families at Solutions for Change in Vista.
Donate books to our children’s book depository at Carol’s House.
Collect school supplies for needy children.
Prepare and serve lunch at the Ronald McDonald House.
Organize a food drive for the food pantry at the Community Resource Center.
Collect blankets for low-income families for the Community Resource Center Holiday Gift Baskets.
